OFM Brute-Q1200 -- Testing HavaFilm HF-XA Camera mount

OFM Brute-Q1200 – Testing HavaFilm HF-XA Camera mount

This is the 3rd Test flight of OFM Brute-Q1200, The Giant Quadcopter designed to take Professional DSLR Cameras in the air. In this video we tested the http://www.havafilm.com HF-XA camera mount with GoPro. As at this moment we do not plan to launch this machine with Camera gimbal, so it was a good idea to see if this Frame is flexible enough to take various gimbals that are originally not designed for it. This frame takes DJI Zenmuse Z15 gimbal Plug and play but others need some DIY creativity. I mounted the GoPro for testing purpose. Big 17inch props were sending enough wash to create Vibrations and one of the props was possibly not properly balanced, but over all video turned out to be very smooth and jello free.

To remind you for this video that GoPro is a tiny camera that shoots a very wide angle video and putting GoPro on such a huge machine, there is no way to avoid shooting Arms, Motors, Props or Landing Skids. But in the video you can also see some Still shots taken using Panasonic HDC-SD80 Camcorder and you won’t see any thing in those shots. So yes, using Professional gimbals and pro DSLR Cameras, there is no way one will ever see a Prop, motors or Skids in the finished videos.

For now we are releasing this Giant as ARF and Kit version Un assembled RTF that will require assembly at customer side before getting it to fly. Rest in RTF Un Assembled version everything will be pre programmed and tested. (Not flight tested). Keep your eyes on http://onlyflyingmachines.com
